Executive Director Community Farmers Market
Katie is the Founding Executive Director of Community Farmers Market, an Atlanta based-non-profit focused on local food access. CFM operates 13 farmers markets and farm stands across metro-Atlanta. Katie is passionate about building community through farmers markets and other "third spaces" and she founded Community Farmers Markets in 2011, along with other leaders in the local food movement. Since graduating from NYU in 2004, she has been an active locavore and community builder. She has nearly two decades of experience in management from small entrepreneurial start-ups to large non-profit companies. She has worked at the National Geographic Society, KIPP DC Charter Schools, and helped start several non-profits, farms, and innovative companies. She received a 2017 Outstanding Atlanta Award for her community contributions. She was previously named a 30 under 30 Non-Profit Leader by the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and Creative Loafing’s 20 People to Watch. She was selected as a Slow Food International Delegate to Terra Madre and is a graduate of LEAD Atlanta, the Atlanta Leaders for Results, and the Points of Light Civic Accelerator. She serves on the Board of Directors for The Dharma Project. Katie is a certified yoga instructor and has trained with Rutu Chaudari of All Life is Yoga, Jessica von Schlichten of Mystic Lotus Yoga, and Kim Weeks of Weeks Well. Outside of work Katie is an enthusiastic mother, yogi, and potter.
